Spectre

Many in the ROV industry are familiar with the “Phantom” ROV.  Several hundred systems were produced over a period of about twenty years before the assets of the manufacturer were first sold and later liquidated.  As a part of DOER’s commitment to supporting scientific institutions, government users and other small business owners, DOER has helped keep these older “Phantom” ROVs working by offering service, repair, maintenance, and a wide array replacement parts. Some parts and components are DOER produced while others are “commercial off the shelf” or “modified off the shelf” in origin.  As these systems age, the low payload, monolithic pressure hulls sometimes begin to delaminate making them impractical to repair.  The Spectre retrofit is DOER’s solution to breathe new life into these aging systems.

DOER’s Spectre is based on the open frame architecture of our Ocean Explorer ROV.  Some features include:

·         Enhanced reliability and maintenance
·         Individually housed thrusters
·         Simplified integration of ancillary devices
·         600m/2000fsw depth rated
·         Live boat, ICW and TMS operational options
·         Durable welded aluminum frame
·         Capable of supporting multi function manipulators
·         Tooling skid options
·         75 pounds useable payload

Spectre is rated for 600m standard. DOER offers training and maintenance clinics for client’s ROV personnel.  Frequently required parts such as umbilical, thruster motors, end caps, thruster shafts, seal assemblies, re-termination kits, and some DOER developed electronics are commonly stocked by DOER. Spare parts kits are available for rent on a pay by use basis.   Click here for a more complete list and if you need something you don’t see listed, just give us a call.
